Smart Sensor Monitoring for Estates and Golf Courses

LoRa Mesh. Solar Powered. Zero Infrastructure.

Self-healing sensor networks that monitor irrigation, pump health, tank levels, and environmental conditions across your entire estate. No Wi-Fi. No cellular fees. No infrastructure dependency.

Running an Estate Blind

Irrigation by Guesswork

Most estates water on fixed timers regardless of soil conditions. Overwatering wastes thousands of rands per month. Underwatering kills landscaping that cost far more to replace.

Equipment Failures Go Unnoticed

Pump failures, low tank levels, and burst pipes are only discovered during manual inspections. By then, the damage is done and the repair bill has grown.

Commercial Systems Are Expensive

Existing irrigation monitoring systems cost R50,000+ upfront with R2,000-5,000/month in cellular fees. Estates without deep pockets are priced out entirely.

From Sensor to Dashboard in Four Steps

1

We Survey Your Estate

Map irrigation zones, identify relay node positions with line-of-sight, confirm power and solar options. No obligation.

2

Mesh Network Deployed

Solar-powered LoRa nodes placed at strategic points form a self-healing mesh covering your entire estate. No Wi-Fi or cellular needed at the edge.

3

Sensors Start Reporting

Soil moisture, pump current, tank levels, and weather data flow to your dashboard every 15 minutes. Alerts trigger instantly for anomalies.

4

You Take Control

Set moisture thresholds, schedule irrigation zones, monitor equipment health, and make data-driven decisions from one clean interface.

Estate Intelligence That Runs Itself

Self-Healing LoRa Mesh

Nodes automatically discover each other and route around failures. If one node goes down, the mesh adapts. Coverage across 2-5 km with no infrastructure dependency.

Soil Moisture Monitoring

Capacitive sensors per irrigation zone measure volumetric water content. Know exactly when to water, and when to stop. Data replaces guesswork.

Automated Valve Control

GPIO-driven solenoid relays open and close irrigation valves based on soil moisture thresholds or scheduled programs. Watering happens when it should, not on a blind timer.

Pump and Tank Monitoring

Current sensors detect pump anomalies before they become failures. Ultrasonic tank level sensors prevent dry runs and overflows. Alerts within minutes.

Solar Powered

Each node runs on a 6W solar panel and 18650 battery. No mains power needed at remote locations. Nodes operate indefinitely with zero running costs.

Weather Station Integration

Temperature, humidity, wind speed, and rainfall data from on-site weather stations feed into irrigation decisions. Rain detected? Watering skipped automatically.

Operations Dashboard

Real-time soil moisture maps, valve status, pump health, tank levels, and node battery/signal strength. All data in one place for estate managers and greenkeepers.

Integration with Safe and Speed

When paired with Communality Safe, perimeter sensors feed into the security system. Combined with Speed, the same mesh network carries enforcement data.

LoRa Mesh. Built for Open Grounds.

Pulse uses LoRa (Long Range) radio technology operating on the 868 MHz band. Unlike Wi-Fi or cellular, LoRa signals travel 2-5 km through open terrain, penetrate buildings, and consume almost no power. A single node can run for months on a small solar panel and battery.

Nodes form a self-healing mesh network. Every node can relay data for other nodes. If a path is blocked, the mesh finds another route automatically. No single point of failure.

2-5 km range per hop (line of sight)
AES-256 encryption on all mesh traffic
50+ nodes supported per mesh network
868 MHz (South Africa legal, no licence required)
IP65/IP67 weatherproof enclosures for all outdoor nodes
All hardware sourced from South African suppliers

Data Where You Need It. Control When You Need It.

Water Savings from Day One

Soil moisture data replaces fixed timers. Estates typically reduce water consumption by 20-30% in the first season.

Early Fault Detection

Pump current anomalies and tank level drops trigger alerts within minutes, not days. Fix problems before they become emergencies.

Historical Data and Trends

Track soil moisture, water usage, and equipment performance over time. Seasonal patterns inform smarter irrigation schedules year after year.

Zone-Level Visibility

See conditions per irrigation zone, not just estate-wide averages. Different zones have different soil, sun, and drainage. Treat them differently.

Future-Proof Platform

Same mesh network expands to cart GPS tracking, perimeter sensors, weather stations, and integration with Communality Safe and Speed. Deploy once, expand as needed.
